Why we started Gear Up 406

The heartbreaking reality of children missing out on sports due to financial limitations inspired us to create Gear Up 406. We believe every child deserves the chance to participate, grow, and thrive, regardless of their family's income. Our mission is to remove financial barriers and open doors to athletic participation for all children in our community.

How to get equipment

We make it easy for children to receive the equipment they need. Gear Up 406 will operate from a dedicated storage facility, and potentially a storefront, where our volunteers will distribute gently used and new sporting goods. We plan to have set distribution hours and will also be available by appointment to accommodate families' needs.
